Nominations are open for the Manufacturing Institute’s 2026 STEP Ahead Awards – a powerful opportunity to spotlight the leaders shaping the future of manufacturing. From the factory floor to the C-suite, the STEP (Science, Technology, Engineering, Production) Ahead Awards honor women who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in their careers across all levels of the manufacturing industry. These awardees inspire future generations and help secure the industry's long-term strength. Deadline: October 10, 2025 On April 23, the Manufacturing Institute (MI) will honor 130 recipients of the STEP Ahead Awards at an in-person gala in Washington, D.C., highlighting each Honoree, Emerging Leader, and Champion’s story, including their leadership and accomplishments in manufacturing. Award recipients are invited to participate in a two-day leadership program before being celebrated at an evening gala alongside peers, family and colleagues. They also join a powerful network of more than 1,700 STEP Ahead alumni—leaders who are committed to paying it forward and inspiring the next generation. Previous honorees from over the years in the recreational boating industry include leaders such as Allison Lemasters of Malibu Boats, LLC, Brenna Preisser and Andrea Shen of Brunswick Corporation, Marikate Langan of Navico Group, a division of Brunswick Corporation, Melanie Bruins and Wendy Scholler of Mercury Marine, and Kim Weckert and Melissa Boom of Winnebago.
