Discover Boating and Progressive Insurance® Launch New Safe Boating Video Series for 2026 |
Discover Boating, powered by NMMA and MRAA, and Progressive Insurance® have launched a new safe boating video series designed to help educate and inspire boaters as they prepare for time on the water this season. Now in its fifth year, the series builds on four previous award-winning safety video programs that have reached millions of boaters with practical, easy-to-understand guidance. The 2026 videos deliver short-form content tailored for today's digital audiences, making important safety information accessible, engaging and shareable. The new series covers topics that reflect how consumers are enjoying the water today, including personal watercraft safety, boating basics for beginners, fishing, docking and navigating boat ramps. The first episode, Personal Watercraft Safety Tips, highlights best practices for gearing up, completing pre-ride checks and operating responsibly around other boaters. The series also supports Discover Boating's broader market expansion efforts. Recent consumer research conducted by Ipsos on behalf of Discover Boating found that among prospective boat owners, lack of knowledge and logistical concerns are the second-biggest barrier behind cost, making ownership feel too complex. Mitigating this starts with education, onboarding, and ongoing support. Educational content like the safe boating video series delivers practical information in a concise, appealing way for today’s consumer, helping build confidence and make boating feel more approachable. Additional episodes will continue rolling out and being promoted across Discover Boating's consumer channels, including email, social media, blog content and DB TV. Industry Stakeholders Encouraged to Share Embeddable versions of the videos are available through the Discover Boating Industry Resource Center. Industry stakeholders are encouraged to share the videos through their websites, social channels, consumer emails and showroom displays to help reinforce safe boating practices and support positive experiences on the water.
