DiscoverBoating.com Traffic Growth and Engagements Remain Strong in August

This summer, Discover Boating, powered by MRAA and NMMA, saw unprecedented website traffic growth as reported in May, June and July – and August was no exception. Boating continued to be top of mind for consumers last month, and Discover Boating’s website performance remained strong according to the latest analytics. Total website visitors in August 2020 increased by 48 percent when compared to August 2019.

Additional YOY increases (compared to August 2019) from Discover Boating website performance in August 2020 include:

  • Organic website visitors (i.e. no paid ads) increased by 197 percent. 
  • Organic manufacturer referrals increased by 163 percent
  • Visitors between 18-24 years increased by 171 percent; and visitors between 25-34 years increased by 52 percent
  • Female visitors increased by 61 percent
  • New visitors increased by 51 percent, and returning visitors increased by 37 percent.

While consumer interest in boating has been at record levels this summer amid the pandemic, Discover Boating’s strategy continues being a driving force in bringing new audiences to its web and social channels as people look to explore useful tools, articles, recommendations and resources to get started in boating.

Additionally, in August, a number of Discover Boating influencer partners posted highly engaging boating content across their social channels (YouTube, Instagram and Facebook), driving traffic to DiscoverBoating.com and generating awareness and consideration of the boating lifestyle. In fact, the influencers helped draw more than 30,000 new visitors to the website and brought new followers to Discover Boating’s Instagram profile (a follower increase by 244 percent in August compared to the previous month, July 2020).

Discover Boating’s Facebook and Instagram content generated a high volume of engagement and clicks as well, especially from these top performing Facebook posts How to Avoid Boat Collisions, 5 Ways to Prevent Seasickness and Best Boating Apps and this Instagram post enticing people to relax out on the water.
