Your Brain on a Boat

As part of its 2018 campaign, Discover Boating embarked on a project with marine biologist and renowned author of Blue Mind: The Surprising Science That Shows How Being Near, In, On, or Under Water Can Make You Happier, Healthier, More Connected, and Better at What You Do, Dr. Wallace J. Nichols, to explore the health and wellness benefits of boating.

Blue Mind InfographicsAs boaters who work in the industry, we know all about these benefits, but conveying them to potential boaters can present its challenges unless these potential boaters have been out on the water to experience boating for themselves. To entice those on-water experiences, Dr. Nichols explains the science behind how the mere sight and sound of water lowers cortisol, increases serotonin and induces relaxation.

Discover Boating created a special webpage on DiscoverBoating.com to showcase this exciting research to potential boaters. What’s more, the Discover Boating PR team has been sharing the research with media around North America. During the summer of 2018, press coverage spanned POPSUGAR, AOL Lifestyle, South Coast Today, Culture Trip, and many others.

Get your customers onboard! Discover Boating encourages you to share the messaging, infographic and video on DiscoverBoating.com with your customers and potential customers and spread the word on why boating is good for the mind and body.
